YOLO Gardens

YOLO Gardens emerges in an area of Aveiro undergoing significant transformation, built upon a simple idea: to live in the city without losing connection to the outdoors.

The building is organized into two "L"-shaped volumes, creating a unique outdoor space between them. This void is not merely a break between structures; it is a garden, a pathway, a place for transit and lingering. It's a space that adds depth to the complex and extends the living experience beyond each apartment.

The balconies follow the design of the volumes, wrapping around the building's six floors in continuous horizontal lines. They are natural extensions of the homes, open to light, the street, and the garden. Integrated into the balconies, planters introduce a closer, individual touch of greenery, adding rhythm, detail, and life to the facade.

The garden appears at various points and is felt at the heart of the complex, in the views, pathways, and balconies, as part of daily life. More than just a landscape feature, it's a constant presence in how the building is experienced.

On the ground floor, retail adds utility and integrates the building into Aveiro's urban life. The common areas were designed to enhance residents' daily lives, offering leisure, wellness, and convenience spaces and amenities within the building itself. The indoor pool, enclosed by a glass structure and directly connected to the garden, creates a bright and secluded environment, ideal for moments of relaxation throughout the year.

With parking and technical areas distributed across two basement floors, YOLO Gardens combines the solidity of an urban building with the lightness of its outdoor spaces. It's a place where the city, home, and garden converge into a more complete, comfortable, and contemporary living experience.
